For those that are visiting for the first time this site was priveolus dedicated to iPhone app reviews only (iPhoneAppTestLab.com). I used an objecive weigted evaluation approach to the reviews and beleive it was a useful and a well received product. However, I've decided I want to use this site to talk about more than just iPhone apps. I'm still an Apple/iPhone fanatic and will still do reviews of iPhone apps, but I wanted to branch out and touch on more than just apps.
The weighted evaluation I've been using is a great tool, but due to the variety of apps available on the iTunes App Store it required a lot of customation to fit different app types. I'm still going to use my experience as an engineer and eduactor to apply objective evaluation tecniques to product reviews, but will do that in a more free form text approach. By moving to this format I'll be able to post and blog from my mobile device allowing more frequent reviews and postings.
As before we will hold off on some of the less than tasteful high school locker room humor apps and concentrate on productivity, utility, and general interest apps and products. I hope the info I provide will be useful appreicate your support.

Alan H. - In my day job I'm an aerospace engineer and I teach graduate courses in information technology management at Webster University in the Space Coast Region. I have developed PC based applications for the medical records industry, retail sales, and now the iPhone. I haven't developed any killer apps, but I really enjoy working with Apple's awesome development tools. We're not going to review my apps on this site, I'll leave that to others.
My wife and I live in the country and have six dogs and seven cats. I also create metal art and surf.
As an engineer I tend to approach decisions in a very objective manner and I hope to bring that type of structured approach to this website. Myself and the other reviewers will use a well defined approach to analyze, test, and report on iPhone apps.
